How did you get into the industry?

I started my career in a graduate program at EY Belfast and initially worked in Internal Audit. One day, they sent out an email requesting volunteers to undertake a secondment to their Software Asset Management (SAM) team, and I’ve been working in SAM ever since.

What appealed to you about the industry?

If I’m completely honest, when I first started working in the industry it was to try something new and gain the opportunity to travel on the job. I didn’t know much about software licensing, but I quickly found my feet and still enjoy the problem solving and complex scenarios that we’re presented with. Of course, since the Covid pandemic the amount of travelling has reduced but now I can still enjoy some trips to lovely York.

Tell us about your career history and what led you to License Dashboard

As I’ve said above, I started my career in a graduate program in EY before some time in KPMG London and then the opportunity to join License Dashboard came across my desk and I haven’t looked back! In previous roles I conducted audits on behalf of software vendors, as well as providing SAM services to managed service clients. Microsoft SPLA is my specialism.

What’s your experience of working at License Dashboard so far?

I joined the team within the last 6 months so it’s still early days, but so far I’ve really enjoyed working at License Dashboard. It’s great to be part of a team with strong technical ability and knowledge that also has the great people and laughs to go along with it!

Tell us a little bit about your role

As a Senior ITAM Consultant in the team I work across a variety of projects and customers, and with a number of different members of the License Dashboard team too. Normal days include ELPs, true-up discussions and keeping up to date with any changes to license rules.
